On Thursday and Friday night 19 and 20 October Peacock visual arts hosts two ‘DanceLive’ performances in the gallery space, part of a series of dance and live music events in Aberdeen from 12th -21st October, organised by Citymoves Dancespace. Performances also take place at the Lemon Tree and Citymoves Dancespace

Thursday 19 October: Colette Sadler. DdumY

Starts 8pm, tickets £9 (concessions £6) A mesmerising performance that, “slips, falls and transforms our perception of what the body is or can be ……”

Set within an itinerant performance space made up of everyday objects, DdumY confronts the human conditions of speech, action, memory and repetition as means by which to articulate a sense of self, other and of world. Using slips, falls, bodily transformations, and drawing on the burlesque traditions of tap and ventriloquism, DdumY questions through dance what a body is, is not, and can become.

Friday 20 October: ‘TEST’. A performance by Anna Krzystek and Tom Murray

Starts 8pm, Tickets £9 (concessions £6) The premise for TEST is essentially based on the act of waiting. The solo attempts to eliminate all sense of predictability and acts as a test to exercise concentration. Read More
