DanceLive! is organised by citymoves and is a unique short season of dance performances, workshops and a conference in Aberdeen, from 5 October until 20 October. Two shows take place in Peacock’s gallery.

Tabula Rasa Dance Company – ‘Hlysnan’

Hlysnan is a collaborative project between choreographer Claire Pençak, dancer Merav Israel and visual artist Norman Gibson. An abstract geometric installation of suspended lines and circles creates a dynamic space for the dancer to inhabit.

We catch fleeting glimpses of movement in reflective materials that gives the sense of deeper places. Soaring lines accentuate the aerial heights. The dancer passes in between, spinning and suspending time through her movement. Hlysnan is a quiet work of delicate detail and savoured moments, where each shift in the body, in space, in light, becomes an event…

Articulate Animal – ‘Carrier’

‘Carrier’ is a new work by Edinburgh based choreographer Sue Hawksley exploring transmission, infection and metamorphosis, ‘conjouring up a world of fear, faith and fakery’, with performer Viv Wood, live music by percussionist Signy Jacobsdottir and design by Selina Nightingale.
