On Saturday 8 September many historic buildings in Aberdeen open their doors to the public. Like every year Peacock, partially located in an old school building, joins in.

On Doors Open Day we offer you:

  • Self-guided tours around the workshops, darkroom and digital facilities
  • Demonstrations throughout the day in the printmaking workshops by local artists
  • Workshop in creating ‘bootleg’ tunes with DJ Dunproofin’ (2-4pm)
  • Opportunity to see the model for our proposed new Art Centre in Union Terrace Gardens
  • And of course the opportunity to see the exhibition Lifting as well….

Bootleg Workshop by DJ Dunproofin’

Time: 2-4pm

Fancy a bit of remixing and creating bootlegs? Come and join this free workshop by Aberdeen-based mash-up maverick Dunproofin’! All welcome.

Dunproofin’s mash up bootlegs, remixes and DJ mixes have been heard on radio stations in the UK (XFM London & Glasgow) and beyond. It has even been reported that a track has been played during an interval at an LA Baseball Game to a crowd of around 60k.

The plans for the future…

On Doors Open Day you will also get the chance to learn more about our plans for the proposed new Centre for Contemporary Arts in Union terrace Gardens. We will display the model and plans and you will have the opportunity to give us feedback.
