22 November 2014 – 17 January 2015
Exhibition Opening: Friday 21 November, 6 – 8pm. All welcome.
Peacock Visual Arts (or Peacock Printmakers as it was in the beginning) was established in 1974 – so we are FORTY! Traditionally a birthday for reflection… and, of course, celebration: celebration of forty years of making and presenting art in Aberdeen and, in doing so, acquiring an international reputation for the quality of our work.
XL, the exhibition that celebrates this milestone, is not a retrospective – forty is far too young for one of those – rather it is a snapshot of what we are doing now, in our late adolescence.
There is new work from artists with whom we have worked before, such as Adam Bridgland, Barbara Rae, Claire Roberts, Ralph Steadman, Donald Urquhart and Frances Walker and first time collaborations with artists including Claire Barclay, Janice Kerbel, Scott Myles, David Noonan and Chris Wells.
Demonstrating our continuing commitment to new technologies and new ways of making there is a selection of objects produced at MAKE aberdeen, our newly launched digital fabrication studio.
Regardless of technology Peacock has always been about encouraging participation, so complimenting the exhibition is a programme of workshops and events, available to book now.
See this Mood of Collapse blog post for more info about the exhibition.
