King Creosote will be playing live at Peacock Visual Arts on Thursday 15 May 2014 from 8 till 9pm, accompanied by a short film made entirely from film archive from the National Library of Scotland’s Scottish Screen Archive.

This performance allows a glimpse into King Creosote’s stunning new collaboration with Edinburgh based film maker, Virginia Heath. From Aberdeen With Love is a playful short film made entirely from The National Library of Scotland’s Scottish Screen Archive, created especially for this intimate installation at Peacock Visual Arts.

The feature length documentary, From Scotland with Love, premieres at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Based on over 100 years of Scottish film archive, this 75 mins feature documentary features a beautiful, moving, contemporary musical score by King Creosote, the soundtrack from which will be released on vinyl, CD and download on Domino Records this summer.

King Creosote is the stagename of Scottish singer-songwriter Kenny Anderson. Anderson began recording albums under the name King Creosote in 1995, and has released over forty albums since, beginning with “Queen Of Brush County” in 1998. During this time, Anderson has performed with Skuobhie Dubh Orchestra and Khartoum Heroes. He is also a member of Scottish-Canadian ‘supergroup’, The Burns Unit.
