A suite of new screenprints, CIRCA, by Adam Bridgland have been installed across the city of Dundee.
Printmaking more than any other artistic medium has become intrinsically linked with popular culture, through such things as advertising in magazines and billboards. Adam explores this notion by placing hand crafted printed works embedded within the history of printmaking and moving them in to the everyday.
Embracing the theme of exploration, Adam’s work has been moved from the traditions and confines of the art gallery and been taken to the public realm, altering their context and their impact. Bus and train stations, cinema foyers, libraries, shopping centres and newsagents have had their walls transformed.
The stunning, colourful prints have been screen printed in house at Peacock Visual Arts’ printmaking studio, one of the United Kingdom’s most important studios for print and publishing.
An edition of high quality prints have been printed and signed by Adam. These will be for sale very soon.
