On Saturday 9th Mar 2019 from 2–5pm LUX Scotland will be holding a workshop in W OR M, 11 Castle Street, Aberdeen.

Margaret Salmon will present the workshop and talk outlining a set of techniques and approaches to personal, intimate portraiture of the people one knows well and loves.

Screening Margaret Tait’s Portrait of Ga (1952) alongside Margaret Salmon’s Peggy (2003) the films and talk will highlight familial dynamics, expressive film techniques and a realism born from embedded, loving observation as expressed through a subjective camera and sound. The 16mm film camera, montage and sound will feature as topics of discussion.

Tickets are free, bookings by email to eve@lux.org.uk

[Please note this event means that our exhibition Utopian Realism will not be open on Saturday 9th March.]
