The Cowboy and the Spaceman was shown at Peacock visual arts from 11 February till 18 March 2006, showing photographs, prints, sculpture and a new film Kirkpatrick, made with Peacock’s Adam Proctor. The film addresses environmental matters close to the artist’s heart in the beautiful landscape of Orkney. A serious subject, but brought to the public with an artistic eye and a sense of humour.

The film forms the central focus of the exhibition. A new series of screenprints and photographs has been editioned at Peacock visual arts.

The Cowboy and the Spaceman was previously on show at Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre in May. The film on its own has been shown in Ullapool and Lochinver on 24 and 25 June courtesy of the smart new Screen Machine 2 Mobile Cinema, devised by Rural Cinema North to make a wider range of non-mainstream non-Hollywood films accessible to rural communities, and to promote the work of local filmmakers.
