We are the Torry Squad and South Catchers, are youth forums made up of young people, based in Aberdeen, aged twelve to sixteen who are passionate about improving local communities. Their current projects focus on accessibility for young people in Torry and raising awareness about Young People’s Rights across Aberdeen.

We act as a voice for our peers and give young people a chance to be heard in Torry and Kincorth.” Jamie Powell, aged 15 years.

We are the Torry Squad and South Catchers will be sharing some previous and present projects they have been engaging with in their local area and will focus on the ways they have been able to engage and contribute to their communities. Both groups enjoy using creative methods in their work and the presentation is an opportunity to hear about their upcoming sensory garden project, disability awareness through street art and Children’s Rights garden walk.

Torry could use more colour to look better and be seen as a better area for young people to spend their time in and feel more positive about Torry. Our group live in Torry and doing this project helps us to see things are getting better and we are doing something for Torry.” Kai Warzala, aged 13 years.
